The Human brain can only survive approximately 6 minutes max without oxygen.  Depending on where you live, on average, a medic will respond in about 8 minutes. For this reason, everyone should know how to perform CPR to keep the brain alive until help arrives. Who knows, you just might be an innocent bystander. Various private and government entities offer free Cpr Classes.  CPR can keep the brain alive until help arrives. However, price should not be a major concern for learning valuable life saving technique.

CPR is the acronym for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This life saving emergency procedure is designed to be performed on victims who are choking, drowning, or their breathing or heart has stopped. Oxygen is supplied to the lungs of the victim by using a combination of rescue breathing techniques and chest compressions.  Free Cpr Classes teach how the victim’s blood circulation and heartbeat is sustained until they are successfully revived. CPR is a combination of rescue breathing, which provides oxygen to the victim's lungs, and chest compressions, which keep oxygenated blood circulating until an effective heartbeat and proper breathing can be restored. It is crucial to know how to keep the blood flowing to the brain.

Your neighborhood health department, hospitals, police departments, fire departments, and schools, offer free Cpr classes. Your employer may also offer these classes. Also, as an employee, you will benefit because your employer can offer you health insurance at a reduced rate.  The American Red Cross has uniform courses developed by experts and trainers are certified instructors. The tests are offered for any age and can be custom-made to fit the needs of particular groups or individuals.  The final test is multiple choice and true/false questions. The exam is designed to see how much the student actually remembers.

Another valuable investment is a family do-it-yourself training system.   Take advantage of theses free Cpr classes and learn how to save a life. The actual certification may not be free. Price should not stop anyone from acquiring such a valuable certification. However, the certificate is good for 2 years.  On line courses are also available.   This life-saving procedure can be taught in a little over 20 minutes. Practice and simulations makes the student comfortable and confident that they can execute the procedure correctly and actually save someones life.
